The “Making of” METAMORPHOSIS

The “Making of” METAMORPHOSIS

Now the truth of the matter is that I probably should have started this blog about a year and a half ago, when I started filming “Metamorphosis”. But being the slacker I am, and a bit of an internet/web technology luddite, I am not getting around to blogging about the experience of making this film until...right now.
My intention with this blog is to relate the experience of making this film in the middle of the amazon as well as to discuss my personal (and sometimes harrowing) experiences of participating in Ayahuasca ceremonies.
I welcome any questions and comments as I recall my experiences. I look forward to our discussions related to this film and all things Ayahuasca.

peace,

Keith Aronowitz

I too am looking forward to watching the entire movie. It's a shame such practices as Ayahuasca ceremonies aren't adopted worldwide. Western medicine is a very recent creation.

Pre-19th century there were many natural remedies which 'did the job and heeled all ills, Hemp oil being one of them.

I heard about this while down there last January and have been looking forward to it since. I have to admit though the first clip the site offers is pretty dark to those who've yet to take the adventure. Makes me wonder what the vibe of the entire move will aim for.

Certainly its a reality of Ayahuasca that things can be unpleasant but you might consider a more introductory scene for those that skip the synopsis and are still wondering what the movie is all about.

You should be very proud of what you've accomplished. most people only speak of dreams and plans, but you followed through. I've seen only clips of your doc, and look forward to viewing the complete film.

All the best.

I was glad to come across this link in one of the newsletters. It's been nearly 2 years since we shared ceremony - an experience that is probably as intimate of a bond as can be shared among people. I continue to admire your resolution and strength in juggling this film with the actual imbibing and processing of the medicine.

Sure, people doing documentaries get into precarious situations alongside African wildlife and political strife, but what you are doing is like crawling into the lion's stomach. Again, I'm glad I came across this page again and got another portal into the digestive tract of that cosmological beast that ironically purges us when dive into its mouth- makes me want to return. Keep up the good work.
